|In 2007, the Australian Partnership for Sustainable Repositories (APSR)
undertook a set of development projects
to explore various workflow scenarios for submitting materials to an institutional
repository. Of these, significant progress was made on submitting Open
Journal System (OJS) journals and Open Conference System (OCS) conference
materials to DSpace and Fedora repositories. Some of this work was improved
upon in 2008 and a presentation delivered at Open Repositories 2008.
In the interim, SWORD and OAI-ORE delivered an initial set of work which has direct relevance to the OJS/OCS workflow scenarios. Specifically, SWORD released its APP Profile, deposit API and repository reference implementations and OAI released its ORE Model and Implementation Guidelines. These deliverables have the potential to replace the custom submission service and custom RDF manifest implementation developed through the APSR work.
The most recent part of this work has been done through the ANDS Establishment Project which is also funded by the Australian Commonwealth Government.
